Programs to Ensure Your Business Success

Retention and expansion of existing businesses is vitally important for the economic success of the City. The City, with the assistance of our partners, El Pájaro Community Development Corporation and the California State Monterey Bay Small Business Development Center provide training and technical assistance to members of our business community.

El Pájaro Community Development Corporation (CDC)

El Pájaro CDC offers low-cost and free bilingual business education and training workshops to low-income business entrepreneurs.  The CDC’s objective is to help business entrepreneurs create and operate a successful business.   Workshops cover business plan preparation, marketing and sales, customer service, bookkeeping, computer basics, business management, and financial literacy. The CDC also offers assistance to specific, underserved groups in the community such as childcare workers, farmers, or CalWORKs (welfare-to-work) participants.
