Recreational Facilities & Programs

Central Park

Located in the center of Gonzales’ historic residential neighborhood, Central Park is a two-acre community park with a playground, sand volleyball court, basketball courts, picnic areas, BBQ grills, and restrooms.  Community events take place at the park throughout the year including an Easter Egg Hunt, Cinco de Mayo, and Fourth of July celebrations.  BBQ pits and picnic areas are also available to reserve for private parties.  The park is located at 207 Fifth Street and is open during daylight hours.

Meyer Park

Meyer Park, located in the Mission Meadows neighborhood in east Gonzales, is a three-acre recreational facility with a soccer field/open play area, playground, basketball court, picnic areas, BBQ grills, practice ball fields (spring/summer only) and restrooms.  Meyer Park is located at 822 Holstein Way.

Canyon Creek Park and Tot Lot

The Canyon Creek Park and Tot Lot are located on Burgundy Way in the Canyon Creek Subdivision.  The park has grassy recreational spaces, walking pathways, and BBQ grills. The Tot Lot is a half-acre outdoor recreational facility with a playground, picnic tables, and BBQ grill.

Community Pool

The Gonzales Community Pool is open Tuesday through Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through late September.  Toddler, youth, and adult swim lessons are offered, as well as recreational swim, family swim, and water aerobics classes. Special pool events include dive-in movies, and teen nights. The pool is located at 205 Elko Street.

Centennial Park and Art Brusa Field

Centennial Park is a seven-acre sports facility with a little league baseball field, softball field, an open play area, and restrooms. A concession stand is also open during little league baseball and softball games. The Park is located at 250 First Street.

Toots Vosti Memorial Recreation Center

The Toots Vosti Memorial Recreation Center is located at 107 Centennial Drive, adjacent to Centennial Park and Art Brusa Field.  This facility opened in 2008 and is used for special community events, summer recreation classes, regular meetings of community groups and organizations, and youth and senior citizen activities.  The recreation center is also available for reserved private events for the public.

Skate Park

The Gonzales Skate Park, located at 203 First Street, is an 8,000 square foot concrete pad with a modular steel skate system including quarter pipes, launch ramp spines, banks, pyramids, and rails. The park is open 8:00am to dusk. Helmets are required.
