Gonzales Launches Online Portal in Support of Economic Development
Gonzales, CA - The City of Gonzales is proud to announce the launch of OpenCounter Gonzales, a web-based tool that helps entrepreneurs to estimate the time, costs and requirements of opening a business in the city.  OpenCounter gives entrepreneurs easy access to city resources, including fee estimations, zoning inquiries and information on incentives and special programs within an intuitive online interface.

“Our community has been a leader in deploying new technologies to improve the lives of our citizens and improve the efficiency of our city services,” said City Manager, René Mendez. “Like our successful Gonzales Grows Green (G3) community sustainability program, OpenCounter will help us be more efficient and responsible to our business community, particularly those just starting out.”

The City of Gonzales has long been at the forefront of sustainable economic development, drafting an Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan that highlights the need for agricultural tourism, high bandwidth Internet infrastructure and leveraging new technology to deliver efficient city services.
